My best reference for wasting time is a website that summarizes movies in 30 seconds with bunnies for actors-- www.angryalien.com. I would love to see some Dickens or Shakespeare done like that.
I like the rain, and some of my garden is waking up after the hot Concord summer. Lemons, Grapefruit, apples, pomegranates and the undying mint are coming in now. The baby sure likes to eat mint. The sewer line is done just days before this incoming bit of rain has started. Great timing, so I guess I should be grateful and wash my car as a compensatory sacrifice.
The saga of the bathroom continues. The previous residents (GOOBERS!) messed up the downstairs plumbing so badly, that the plumbers I talked to are speechless (or drooling from their staggering fee estimates). I'm trying to avoid jackhammering the slab to replace the missing cast iron closet flange, but I don't have a solution yet. Sometimes a hardware store guy will look at me like I bought a car made up of old Vietnamese lawnmowers and held it together with stray pieces of gum, but I didn't do it. I'm just the guy who bought a house without taking apart all the toilets first (silly rabbit).
A friend is in Prague and Amsterdam these last two weeks and I'm hoping to get a ton of pictures when he comes back with my camera. maybe I'll find some more gothic bits that I can incorporate into my front yard decorations. Speaking of which, I need to get some pumpkins carved and scarey for the yard soon. I hope we can avoid the vandals this time. They usually trash all the pumpkins a few days before the actual hallowed eve (I wouldn't mind it afterwards).

Seriously, thanks for the offer. Just don't see myself getting up to Ukiah anytime soon.
